Snow Style in Scandinavia

Thanksgiving traditions and old family pictures inspired a Scandinavian style post. I love sitting with Grandma Ruby over the holidays and looking at our family scrapbooks - pictures of family in old Norway, stories of life on the farm - priceless memories of a time long-ago but not forgotten.

The Danish fashion industry developed in the 1960's into a successful export. Now, the Danish Fashion Institute promotes growth and awareness of Danish design and Copenhagen Fashion Week. I could spend all day reading about fashion history and development, and today proved to be the perfect morning to browse...

Traditional Scandinavian knitwear - so cozy and so snow bunny chic. This girl reminds me of Donna from That 70's Show... often I am envious of redheads.

Stockholm street style at its best! I love the icy gray tights and muted colors in different textures.

This coat from Swedish fashion brand Nygårdsanna is adorable. In fact, the entire line is a cool glimpse of Swedish country style. Would love to find a pair of those Scandinavian knit fingerless gloves...

DANSK - self touted as 'The World's Most Independent Fashion Magazine' - it's a cool girl's fashion import from Denmark - if only I could afford to subscribe!

Happy Holidays from our Scandinavian family to yours!

XOXO, T

It's a... Mad World

It's Halloween - my favorite - and after much deliberation (none) A### and I decided to dress up as our favorite Manhattan duo. Don and Betty - stylish, sexy, screen-hearts.

Probably not going to be such a stretch... cocktail hour anyone?!

Betty's costume designer Janie Bryant does an uber amazing job styling the show and creates an enviable wardrobe for vintage connoisseurs. Lucky us, she recently debuted her own clothing line - Janie Bryant MOD. Available on QVC, the collection features swing coats, vintage style jewelry and fur fur fur. I'm currently obsessing over this leopard capelet...

Yesterday, a sunny Saturday lent itself to trips to Red Light U-dist, Red Light Cap Hill, and my favorite treasure trove, the Ranier Goodwill - to no avail for Mad costume -ish. The ultimate Betty Draper dress has yet to be found.... Alas, the search continues... I know you are out there!

High Tea in the New Nest

Apartment design has been consuming me these days as A### and I prepare for the big move into our "big" new place together. I hope to document tidbits of inspiration and daily doses of Seattle expression in this blog for all things I find to be Awesome.

This handmade log table got me thinking...

A misty gray Sunday inspired a treasure hunt to the Ranier Goodwill and low and behold - a diamond in the rough. This rustic wood coffee table is similar to the one we snatched up, at only $25! A little Howard Restor A Finish and voila! Fancy designer table the DIY way - before and afters to be included come craft day...

Shag carpet, leather couch... cannot wait.

XOXO, T
